Buying for Salvador Dali

The play References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot by Jose Rivera was the first production I ever worked on at Hunter College. It was directed by Mia Rovegno in the Fall of 2011. I had just entered the theatre program and for the production I used my buying skills to shop for items we used for the costumes. New York City is a large city but with my training as a buyer for a clothing store, I knew all the right stores in my large city.
My first task was to buy fabric to make the Moon's vest. I chose a silver and white jacquard fabric as well as an silver polyester for the lining.  My second task was to find and distress the cat's flats as well as Martin's Adidas sneakers. Along with the costume crew, I had to find and create an authentic military costume. Below you can see some of the pictures from our production.
